Elizabeth Reid – Sewing & Knitting Children’s Clothes

I learned the crafts of sewing and knitting at an early age, making clothes for my dolls and progressing to making my own clothes. My biggest challenge was making my wedding dress.

My career left little spare time to indulge my love of crafting but retirement provided the perfect opportunity to resurrect my interests, and I even found time to have a go at jewellery and card making. While I loved trying these crafts, I decided to concentrate on sewing, knitting and teaching myself to crochet to a pattern.

I now produce a range of children’s clothing including dresses, fleece jackets, aprons and dungarees. In addition I also knit and crochet baby and toddler jackets, hats and mitts.

I love to design and make a variety of different bags and household items such as peg bags, oven gloves and sewing machine covers.

My work can be seen in the Ochil Crafts shop in Grangemouth, at the monthly craft markets in The Howgate Centre, Falkirk, as well as at various craft fairs around Central Scotland.

ELIZABETH REID

Sadly, Elizabeth passed away in February 2024, but we still have some of her lovely work on display in the shop.
